A little about Amped:
Amped Airsoft has been in business since August of 2007. Amped
started without a physical location and mainly served the local
community by traveling to local games in order to offer a convenient
way for players to get the products they needed on the spot. We will
continue to do this every chance we get because we believe in being
there for the players, our customers, and above all, our friends.
In 2008, Amped offered its services and goods at Airsoft Assault
(Pittsburgh, PA) up until Airsoft Assault's closure in January of 2009
.
In March of 2009, Amped began to scout for a new location. By May of
2009, Amped had found and moved into its first actual dedicated retail
location in which we hope to reside for a good while until we need to
expand to a larger location. Please see our "Location" section above
for more details!
In June of 2010, Amped Airsoft teamed up with Steel City Airsoft to offer an indoor Close Quarters Combat facility due to the increasing demand from our local community after the close of Airsoft Assault. Amped offers spring change services and repairs for Steel City Airsoft players. We also are located within 15 minutes of the field which allows for customers to be close enough to receive support if something needs troubleshot or fixed.
As stated above, we will be traveling to quite a lot of local games
to offer our products and play with our friends. You will probably see
us in the Tri-State area (PA, OH, and WV). Our main local community
that we serve is South Western Pennsylvania and the Eastern side of
Ohio.
Most of the community known to us use the online communities, Western Pennsylvania Airsoft (http://www.wpairsoft.com) and Airsoft Ohio (http://www.airsoftohio.com) to organize games and events.
If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to contact us,
or stop in our retail store! If anyone wants to order a product online
and pick it up or meet us at a game we are going to, you are more than
welcome or we can ship via UPS or USPS.
Hope to see you on the field!
A little about the Owner, Kurtis "Angus" Hardy:

Hello, my name is Kurtis Hardy. I grew up in Connellsville, PA and
moved out near Cannonsburg, PA during the summer of 2007 to finish my schooling at the University of Pittsburgh for Computer Science, where I
received my degree in 2008.
Playing History: I began playing Paintball in 1998. I first
started with recreational/woods ball, then moved into tournament based
paintball and began playing Milsim Paintball. I also played for the
University of Pittsburgh's X-Ball Paintball team briefly. In 2003, I
was first introduced to Airsoft and have been playing ever since.
Airsmithing History: I began learning my Airsmithing skills
in 2003 by upgrading my first weapon (Classic Army M15A4 Carbine). This then
expanded to upgrading/repairing other peoples airsoft guns in the local
community. From there, I decided it was time to start offering more
services, hence Amped Airsoft was founded. I have offered custom work,
upgrades, and repairs since then (2007). My main experience is with
mostly Automatic Electric Guns (A.E.G.s) and PolarStar EPARs. I intend to learn as much
as I can and offer even more services as Amped grows.
Community History: In the beginning, I became involved with
ACAL (Allegheny County Airsoft League), the local Airsoft community at
the time, and then helped to evolve ACAL into WPA (Western Pennsylvania
Airsoft). Our aim was to provide a place for all Airsoft players in the
area to come together.
Other Airsoft Experiences:
During the summer of 2008, I became part owner of Airsoft Assault
(Pittsburgh's first Close Quarter Combat Facility). I spent most of my
time working at Airsoft Assault over the 2008 season. Sadly, we had to
close it down for a variety of reasons.
During the spring of 2010, I began to put together a team to pull off Pittsburgh's next indoor Close Quarters Combat Facility. We then founded Steel City Airsoft located in Bridgeville PA that opened on June 25th of 2010. For more information on this indoor CQC field, please check out www.steelcityairsoft.com.
Starting at the beginning of 2012, Justin Caldwell and myself teamed up to begin FAST-Tactics, which is a "real steel" firearms tactics and training company. We utilize Airsoft as a training tool to help students enhance their shooting abilities. Please feel free to check out www.fast-tactics.com.
The Amped Airsoft Operators: Near the beginning of Amped Airsoft, we
founded a team by the name of Amped Airsoft Operators. We attend many of the OP Lion Claw Series events. We also sponsor and attend Op: Northern Lights and Op: Red Storm East. Our team's focus is to help the community grow and offer help where we can.
Past Times: Most of my past times include Airsoft and "real steel" guns interestingly enough, surprise! lol. I usually travel around to various
games throughout the Tri-State area. Other things I enjoy are web
design, airsoft game production, computer gaming, tactical training, shooting competitons, helping out players
in the Airsoft community, and of course... building Airsoft guns.
The other thing that I do in my spare time is coming up with ways to
make airsoft guns perform even better.
That should give you a little bit of information on my past.
Currently, as many of you know, we are constantly updating Amped Airsoft's website. It
will definitely take some time to upload all of our products. Please keep your eyes open for
updates!
If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact us. Thanks!
